Beginning November 2011, Kindergarten thru eighth grade students will be taught Circle of Grace.

In response to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the Archdiocese of Detroit has provided all Catholic schools with a program for the safe environment education of children as supported and mandated by the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Circle of Grace is meant to supplement and be integrated into our religion classes. It aims to equip children with essential knowledge and skills grounded in the richness of the Catholic faith. This program helps children to understand their own (and other’s) dignity in mind, body, and spirit. Our teachers are to assist our students in recognizing each of us lives and moves within a circle of grace.

Circle of Grace teaches that God has created each one of us as special - we are meant to respect ourselves and others.

Circle of Grace is neither a sex education nor stranger - danger course. It is a Catholic course that helps children understand the sacredness of who they are and how to seek help through relationships with trusted adults.

If you would like to read more information about Circle of Grace, please click here. If you have additional questions, please contact your child's teacher.  If you still have questions, you may contact the principal, Mr. Anthony Sahadi.  And finally, you may contact the Archdiocese of Detroit, Office for Safe Environments, (313) 237-5826.

A parent may refuse to allow their children to participate. If you do not wish them to be a part of this program, please let the principal know in writing.
